Managing Director Miles walked this month: 74 The summer holiday took us to Mallorca, and with my partner and kids off mountain biking I decided to go walking. The GR221 route in Mallorca never disappoints, and this year saw a pleasant 27 degrees – with patchy cloud and a lovely breeze – so I embarked upon walking between Port Soller and Deia. The route starts in Port Soller with a steep uphill to La Muleta Refuge and lighthouse, which is largely concrete before the cobbled trails ensue. The 10km route is truly stunning, running between the sea on one side, steep mountains on the other and winding through vineyards and farmland. And what better way to celebrate on reaching the other end, than with a glass of Sangria Cava! Cheers! Note to self: Holidays needn’t just be for sitting down and relaxing by the pool – there’s walking to be had, too.
