THAT WATERPROOF UP THERE is definitely waterproof. You know how I know that? Because that’s me standing underneath Sgwd yr Eira in the Brecon Beacons to find out. The force of the water might have drilled a hole in my scalp, but at least I was able to tell you it worked. That’s the kind of fun we have when we’re testing out kit for Country Walking. And because we test so much gear during a year, and because you might not remember when we tested something you’re interested in, we’ve produced this Yearbook: a potted précis of all the winter-dedicated kit we’ve covered in 2017. Each review is checked and updated with the benefit of longer-term use, revealing new-found benefits – and the odd newly-discovered flaw.
