The Dun­fal­landy Stone near Fonab, (grid ref­er­ence NN946564), reached by means of a short walk along Na­tional Cy­cle Route 7. The an­cient mon­u­ment is one of Scot­land’s finest Pic­tish cross slabs, with elab­o­rate de­signs carved into the red sand­stone. One side bears a cross and pan­els fea­tur­ing an­i­mals both real and imag­i­nary.
