NOW’S THE PER­FECT time to take on a free, fun, flex­i­ble walk­ing chal­lenge – or give your cam­paign a boost – with our new #500mile­sum­mer chal­lenge. Your progress chart’s in­side the back cover and avail­able for down­load now!

Start on 1 June and give your­self un­til the end of the year and it’s just 2.35 miles (about 45 min­utes) a day; aim for the of­fi­cial end of sum­mer on 23 Septem­ber and it’s 4.4 miles a day – eas­ily doable in lunch­breaks and evenings. You’ve just got to keep at it.

From how­ever small a base of fit­ness or mileage you’re miles build­ing, we prom­ise you'll see some sights, hear some sounds, smell some scents and feel some things you would never have done; that you’ll feel there’s a bit more to each day – and in­deed life – than there was be­fore. Your heart will rest go­ing a beat or two slower, your sleep be a de­gree or two deeper, and your fu­ture feel a shade or two brighter. That's what win­ning at our chal­lenges looks like. And look what fine com­pany you’ll be keep­ing!
