Monstrous!

-

In the 6th century The Life of St

Columba told of a water beast in the River Ness, but it was a photo in 1933 of a long-necked monster in the loch that sealed Nessie’s fame. Thousands now visit to try and spy this elusive/ mythical creature and as the lake holds more water than any other in Britain she has plenty of space to hide. Still it’s a good excuse to walk by the water for hours: the south shore avoids the coaches of the A82 and the walk through sylvan woods, past the Falls of Foyers* to loch vistas above is a treat.
