GETTING HERE

The route starts in All Stretton, with on-street parking near the Yew Tree pub. It’s easily accessed from the A49 Shrewsbury to Ludlow road. Rail access via Church Stretton.

WHERE TO EAT

The route passes through Church Stretton, home to many pubs, tearooms and delis. Our picks are the Buck’s Head Inn (01694 722809, www.the-bucks-head.co.uk) which has main meals around the £10 mark, and Jemima’s

Kitchen (01694 723823, www.victoriahouseshropshire.co.uk), a fabulous café and tearoom – try the raspberry crumble shortbread slice for £2.50. In Little Stretton you’ll pass the rather splendid Green Dragon (01694 722925, www.greendragonlittlestretton.co.uk).

WHERE TO STAY

Both our above picks in Church Stretton offer rooms too; the Buck’s Head has doubles from £47 pppn, while Jemima’s Kitchen is part of Victoria House B&B, offering doubles with breakfast from £92.
