CRAGHOPPERS
Timor Half Zip
RRP £35 Target Price £25 With its pastel colours and muted style, the Timor (women’s version is the Caitlin) is a dependable all-rounder that can do little wrong. To say it’s the ‘white bread’ of fleeces would be wrong however, because its soft, lightweight polyester pile also hides a secret – a good sort of secret. The fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles (about 8 go into each fleece according to Craghoppers), making this top a planetfriendly purchase. With its slightly baggy fit, the Timor has a relaxed feel to it, though I felt that a little more length would be welcome in the arms and hem. It’s only the half zip incarnation of the Timor, so you don’t get the versatility of the full zipped jacket, but for trapping or offloading warmth as and when needed, it does the job. The patch on the left-hand chest is a discreet zipped pocket, which is big enough for a smartphone or wallet. Although it’s not the warmest of the bunch I tested, it’s the optimum weight and thickness to be useful throughout most of the year, on easy spring rambles and summer forays among the hills. PT
