Music of the stones

The interview with Matthew Bannister in the August issue reminded me of a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition I assessed in the Peak District a few years ago.

The group climbed up onto Kinder each day and took inspiration from the stones to compose music, write lyrics, play the tune on their recorders and sing the songs they had written. The results were magical. Beryl Worsley, Sandy, Bedfordshire
