VAUDE SIMONY II JACKET

Vaude are primarily known for their outstanding rucksacks – but they also make an exceptional range of outdoor clothing too. From fast-wicking baselayers through to microfibre fleeces and highly functional insulators, the range is packed with home-developed technologies and a clear focus on ecologically sound production. This is particularly strong in Vaude’s waterproof range, where comfort, performance and style merge seamlessly with manufacturing processes that respect and help the environment. Here is the superb Simony II jacket to explain more…

Practical and versatile

The Simony II is a highly breathable 2½-layer hooded jacket made from robust but stretchy fabric. Waterproof, windproof and breathable, but featherlight at just 352g, it’s the perfect outer layer for a wet winter’s day when worn over an insulating mid-layer.

Bluesign brilliance

The textile materials are certified in accordance with the Bluesign system, the world’s strictest standard for environmental protection and worker safety.

Venting zips

If you’re on a taxing ascent, you can unzip the torso vents to prevent unwanted heat building up.

Green Shape credentials

Vaude’s Green Shape products are functional, environmentally-friendly, and made from sustainable materials. They are manufactured under fair working conditions along the entire supply chain. The label covers the full lifecycle of the product from design, through production, care and maintenance, to repair and the product’s end of life. Find out more at bit.ly/vaudegreenshape

Ceplex Green membrane

Created in-house by Vaude, this highquality membrane does not contain PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and uses a minimum of 15% renewable or recycled raw materials. The membrane has a minimum water column (hydrostatic head) of 15,000mm, meaning it’s dense enough to hold out heavy rain but breathable enough not to trap unwanted heat. Stash pockets

Accessible even with a rucksack harness on, the front pockets are large enough to hold a map, hat or gloves. There’s also a zipped inner pocket for stashing valuables

and small items.
