FYFIELD, Route 07, January 2019 Armed with the route plan, a map and a few snacks I persuaded my sons, their friends, (aged 9 to 13) and our dog to come for a ‘short walk’ across the Essex countryside. We had great fun navigating our way along public footpaths through farmland and watching out for landmark features. The estimated time on the route card was 2 hours – we took 3hrs 30mins, but it was wonderful listening to them talking all the way, with the occasional stop to ‘floss’! We had a great day! Bernadette Bateman, Brentwood

MILLINGTON DALE, Route 18, February 2019 Can highly recommend the gorgeous Millington Dale walk, chosen by Arnold Underwood. 8 miles turned to 9 though as we needed to rehydrate at the Gait Inn in Millington village. Fab walk, thank you. Tammy Hobson, Facebook

MINI TEN TORS, Route 01, May 2018 My wife Liz & I live in Exeter and walk on Dartmoor regularly. We were intrigued by the Mini Ten Tors route and decided to give it a try. We had done most parts of it before but never in this order. It is a lovely route and highly recommended and I intend to lead our Ramblers Sunday Walkers on it in April. Here we are nearing the end with Hound Tor in the distance. Paul & Liz Nuttall, Exeter

WOLFSCOTE & BIGGIN DALES, Route 12, January 2019 Had a fantastic circular walk with my husband starting in Hartington from January 2019 issue. The snow covering and clear weather made for superb views. Hartington is a lovely village and a ideal base for walking. Thank you for a great mag. Mandy Cooke, Email

CRASTER, Route 21, February 2019 We can recommend this walk as my wife and I completed it in August last year. We started from Dunstanburgh village and walked Embleton Beach to Craster and back via The Ship Inn at Low Newton, which featured in Country Walking recently. I think you have been following us this year as we have also completed the Bosherston and Muker & Swaledale walks. Len & Brenda Faulkner, Eltham

GREYS GREEN & HARPSDEN, Route 06, September 2017 Taking advantage of a dry spell we took ourselves off to Henley. What a lovely walk it was! Beautiful views, and our dog loved all the interesting smells in the woods. We called in at Greys Court (National Trust) and decided to go there the next day. We saw and heard plenty of Red Kites, noticed our first snowdrops and catkins of the year, and saw a robin. We will definitely be walking in the Chilterns again. Jenny & Jim Smithson, Bloxham
