The loooong view

I was interested in June’s article about big views – up to 144 miles long. I’m sure I’ve seen the Welsh hills from a little further south (but still in Scotland).

The picture is of a longer view than 144 miles. I took it in the 80s when I was on Point Lenana (Mount

Kenya) and could see easily Kilimanjaro with the naked eye. The camera just about picks it out [It’s under the P of Point Leana – Ed].

If you measure the distance on Google Earth you’ll see it’s about 200 miles. It was quite amazing. Goff Payne, Email
