STAR WALKER: JB GILL

-

Born: December 7th 1986, South London

Early years: Spent his first five years in the Caribbean before his parents moved the family back to South London full-time.

Fame: In 2007 he joined boyband UFO, whose name later changed to JLS (or Jack the Lad Swing). The group featured on the 2008 series of The X Factor, finishing second to Alexandra Burke. But they signed a record deal and went on to have five number ones including Everybody in Love and Beat Again. The band separated in 2013 after a farewell tour.

Farmer: JB and his wife Chloe bought a farmhouse in the North Downs and began farming in earnest a few years later. They now have more than 200 animals, including pigs and turkeys, and are helped on the farm by son Ace (6) and Chiara (2), plus Nala the dog.

Walker: “Nala and I walk together every day, and we walk as a family all the time, too.”

Walks of Life (about walking and faith), River Walks, plus Down on the Farm for CBeebies. Also Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Masterchef and The Jump.

The lost year: “I was meant to be on a reunion tour with JLS! Hopefully still happening in 2021. On the plus side, we did a lot more walking.”
