IT TAKES ABOUT an hour a day to #walk1000miles, rescue the health of the nation and save the NHS say our wonderful doctors and healthcare workers. Small wonder then they’re backing the campaign like never before. We’ve always known walking packs a health punch way beyond its humble appearances – but at a time when public health, morale and resilience are in the spotlight like never before, medics say it’s vital the world wakes up to its potential. And they’re saying it with an urgency that’s taken us aback.

Accessible to millions, easy to start doing, rewarding from the first day and ‘Magic’ in its ability to advance health, happiness and the ability to meet life’s challenges and win, walking is the medicine doctors say they wish everyone would take – and with #walk1000miles as the impetus, we might just have a chance.
