TYNE GREEN, Route 20, December, 2020

We live in the north east and during a weekly Zoom quiz with family, my parents, in Leeds, asked us which rivers joined to form the Tyne. The weekend after, I was reading your magazine and came upon this walk which led us to the point where the North and South Tyne meet! We had to go and do it the following weekend! Thank you.

TYNE GREEN, Route 20, December, 2020

Today we did one of your routes for the first time, and started the trip there having scraped ice off the car. The landscape was white with frost and we saw thick layers of ice. The day was cold, but sunny, so a perfect day for a winter walk. It was lovely to see the North and South Tyne rivers becoming one. Violeta & Adam, Email

BIRCHOVER & STANTON MOOR, Route 11,

February 2021 Perfect route for young and old alike. Great for a bimble. Brilliant to capture family pictures. Lots of interesting features 15 minutes apart to make it a great trail for the kids. Everyone will love the Cork stone. Both pubs in Birchover are really good, but also well worth a short detour on your way around the route is a visit to the Flying Childers Inn. Use your OS map to walk to the pub located in the village of Stanton in the Peak. Chris Hanley, Email

BEN VRACKIE, Route 25, October 2020

We followed your route up Ben Vrackie. It was a bright, sunny day but still chilly at the top. Afterwards we sat outside at the Moulin Inn with a pint of their local ale and followed this with coffee and cake back in Pitlochry itself. On our second day, we did a circular walk along Loch Faskally and the River Garry to Killiecrankie. Alison Bogle, Edinburgh

KNOTT END-ON-SEA, Route 16, January 2021

The route was new to us and we arrived in pouring rain, slightly concerned. However, it soon cleared and we set off, inspired by the views across to the Lake District. The route took us into the countryside beyond the town, Pink-footed geese were feeding in the fields and we thought the seasons had switched when we came across an impressive hogweed plant in full flower.

Phil & Rose Dykes, Lancashire

Y RO WEN, Route 24, June 2020

This route came at just the right time as we were meeting with my kind and generous friend of the last 25 years, Alison. We visited her cottage in Cwm Penmachno and this was a perfect walk for avoiding crowds. We did not see a soul, but had excellent views. Karin Parish, Email
