Do you know which deer is which? Now’s a good time to see and ID, especially at dawn or dusk. If you can, get a pic! But a positive ID is a must. Was it a Roe, Fallow, Red, Muntjac, Sika or Chinese water deer?
7 DEDICATE A WEEK OF MILES TO A CHARITY
Turbo-charge your walks with extra feelgood for a week: promise to give £1 (or whatever you can spare) for every mile you walk in a seven-day period to a charity of your choice.
8 START A SCRAPBOOK
Keep notes, doodles, maps, bits and pieces – anything that brings to mind the particularities of your days on foot. Try to record something from every walk. You’ll be amazed how this record grows in value!

These sober places are fascinating historical records and can be lifeaffirming too. Find the oldest headstone, an unusual name or a story that invites more research...
10 TELL US A JOKE
