Church Cove

The beach may be busy in summer, but here there is a small enclave of tranquillity. The tiny Church of St Winwalloe – perched just above the high water line – prickles with a sense of history. Two doors painted with images of apostles are said to be made from oak from a ship that foundered 500 years ago.
