BETTER THAN SOME ALTERNATIVES

Environmentalists have said that tidal lagoons could be significantly less environmentally damaging and more cost effective and powerful than tidal barrages (which would impound sea water), that lagoons would not directly impound inter-tidal areas of the estuary, and that they may even offer potentially significant wildlife habitat.
