The hour before dusk and dawn, as otters are on the move, is the best time for photograph­y. They have poor eyesight but acute hearing, so choose your spot, keep still and wait. Adjust your camera for low light and set it with a fast shutter speed. A telephoto lens is a good idea. Otters are out in all weathers, so you should be as well.
