WASPISH CHARM

One of six variants of bee orchid, the wasp orchid distinguishes itself by producing flowers that resemble wasps, in a bid to attract the stripy pollinators to its petals. This rare plant is scarce across Britain but grows in a few places in the West Country. Here it stands tall on Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
