TV presenter Emma Jesson and Cov Kid John Dalziel will be hosting our Coventry and Warwickshire Heroes awards night on Friday May 26.

That’s when we will honour the real heroes of our region at a glittering ceremony at the Ricoh Arena.

Emma and JD, who hosts Free Radio’s breakfast show, will return after hosting last year’s event under the title of the Pride of Coventry and Warwickshire Awards.

They will keep the evening going smoothly but now we need your help to tell us about who should be our Coventry and Warwickshire Heroes 2017.

If you know someone of any age who may have shown outstanding bravery, run phenomenal fundraising campaigns, or gone beyond the call of duty on behalf of others, then get in touch with us. Our winners will be will be honoured The suggested categories for nominations are: Carer of the Year, Child/ Teenager of Courage, Fundraiser of the Year, Local Champion, Outstanding Bravery, Young Achiever, Volunteer of the Year and Inspirational Person.

To tell us about your unsung hero, fill in the nomi- nation form on the facing page and tell us a bit about why you think the person you are nominating deserves to be one of our winners. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

Last year’s event, under the title of the Pride of Coventry and Warwickshire Awards, was our best yet, with a red carpet ceremony at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre.

We screened video messages from the then Prime Minister David Cameron and Sir Richard Branson.
