WE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE GIANNI AND SIMONE WHO HAVE CARED FOR DOZENS OF CHILDREN
We are looking for the real heroes of our region to be honoured with the awards they deserve in our Coventry and Warwickshire Heroes 2017.
If you know someone of any age who may have shown outstanding bravery, run phenomenal fundraising campaigns, or gone beyond the call of duty on behalf of others, then get in touch with us.
Our winners will be will be honoured at a glittering ceremony hosted by TV presnter emma Jesson and Free Radio’s JD at the Ricoh Arena on Friday May 26.
The suggested categories for nominations are: Carer of the Year, Child/ Teenager of Courage, Fundraiser of the Year, Local Champion, Outstanding Bravery, Young Achiever, Volunteer of the Year and Inspirational Person.
Last year’s winners included Gianni and Simone Muntoni – our Carers of the Year. The couple won the award for fostering youngsters and also looking after children with disabilities to help their families.
We want to know about more people like Gianni and Simone. Fill in the nomination form, below right, and tell us a bit about why you think the person you are nominating deserves to be one of our winners. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Last year’s event, under the title of the Pride of Coventry and Warwickshire Awards, was our best yet, with a red carpet ceremony at the Belgrade Theatre. We screened video messages from the then Prime Minister David Cameron and Sir Richard Branson.
