THESE drone images show the extent of the damage caused by a blaze at a popular pub near Nuneaton.

Drone enthusiast Daniel Stanoch captured the devastation at The Malt Shovel, in Grange Road, Hartshill, after a fire ripped through the building in the early hours of Tuesday.

As well as the damage to the back of the building, there are large holes in the roof and all of the windows have been charred by smoke.

The back of the building, including the makings of an extension, has been gutted.

At one point more than 40 firefighters were battling the flames.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service say they prevented the fire spreading to the front of the building, which includes the bar area.

Fire investigation teams from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service are continuing to look into the cause of the blaze. The clean-up operation is well underway with workmen and deliveries being made on Wednesday.

Fundraising pages have now been set up to help landlord Richard Mills and his family, and donations of clothes and toys are being collected for the family’s young children. Between them they hope to raise £2,500.

The family managed to escape unharmed but the majority of their possessions went up in flames.
