FABULOUS fundraisers from across Coventry and Warwickshire made their laughs matter in support of Comic Relief.

Yesterday’s Red Nose Day brought with it funny costumes, tasty cake sales and lots of other fundraising activities to raise money for what has become something of a British institution since its launch in 1988.

Youngsters began their school day dressed in red or wearing specially-designed Red Nose Day t-shirts, created by fashion photographer Rankin.

Grace Academy Coventry pupils took part in the Great Grace Bake Off, where competitors made a donation to enter a cake making competition. The winning students were then asked to bake their creations, which were then sold to raise more funds.

The overall winner, Year 8 pupil Kamrandeep Lotta, designed and baked an Oreo, chocolate finger and M&Ms creation. Grace Academy Coventry expects to raise more than £100 for Comic Relief, And it wasn’t just the youngsters getting involved.

Staff from Moseley Primary Staff at Moseley Primary School in Coventry took a trip back to the 1980s, donning their legwarmers and shoulder pads to hold their classes in fancy dress. Readers shared some terrific pictures of themselves celebrating Red Nose Day so we’ve put together a gallery of those taking part.
