- Emma Jesson and John Dalziel

TICKETS are on sale for our Coventry and Warwickshire Heroes Awards and the nominations are in as we get ready for the grand ceremony at the Ricoh Arena on Friday, May 26.

The awards night will be hosted by TV presenter Emma Jesson and Free Radio’s JD - Cov Kid John Dalziel – when our winners will get the recognition their outstanding contributions to our community deserve.

Coventry and Warwickshire Heroes is the Telegraph’s way of saying thank you to people who make a difference in the community and it wouldn’t be possible for us to do that without the support of our sponsors and partners.

One of our key partners in the awards are BBC Coventry and Warwickshire. Your local BBC radio station is sponsoring the Fundraiser of the Year category and are sharing the stories of the nominees on the breakfast show every day this week.

Gareth Roberts, Editor of BBC Coventry and Warwickshire told us why the station is backing Coventry and War- wickshire Heroes Awards.

Mr Roberts said: “Every day, BBC Coventry and War- wickshire tells amazing stories from incredible people who live locally. We have been truly impressed by the five people nominated in the “Fundraiser of the Year” category in the Coventry and Warwickshire Heroes 2017.

“Trish Adudu has been telling their individual stories on her Breakfast show over the last few days. They are five very different people but what they have in common is a genuine kindness and willingness to give up their own time and put in some serious effort to raise money for those who need it.

“It’s also heart-warming to hear just how generous the people of Coventry and War- wickshire have been helping them raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes.

“We’re proud to be the BBC Local Radio station for Coventry and Warwickshire and serve its amazing people and we are very happy to support these awards with the Telegraph.”

Tickets are currently on sale with a half-price discount for the glittering ceremony at the Ricoh Arena on Friday, May 26.
