A WOMAN was sexually assaulted in a Nuneaton park.

Warwickshire Police are currently investigating the incident that happened at Pool Bank Recreation Ground in Pool Bank Street between 9pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday night.

Police are looking to speak with two men who left the scene on bicycles.

Temporary Det Insp Paul Thompson said: “This investigation is in its very early stages. We believe there were two men involved in the incident and they both left the scene on pushbikes.

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or saw anyone acting suspiciously or anyone on pushbikes.”

Speculation around the incident began after social media users began questioning why the recreation area was cordoned off.

Pool Bank Recreation Ground has been the site of multiple sexual assaults over the years and was where hospital worker Morgan Hehir was murdered on Halloween in 2015.
