GARDEN and allotment sheds are being targeted by thieves across Bedworth.

People have been sharing details of the incidents on the Bedworth Crimewatch page on Facebook - although in most cases nothing has been stolen.

One man, who did not want to be named, said his mum’s garden in Rectory Close, Exhall, was targeted in the early hours of Thursda

He has been left confused by the incident, which saw the shed damaged but nothing taken.

Neighbours caught a man entering the garden on CCTV.

The door of the shed was found on the floor with the screws taken out and put in a pile.

The CCTV footage shows a man in the garden at around 12.30am.

Bizarrely nothing was stolen from the shed despite the fact it was full of tools.

A number of homes in the road also had their sheds damaged.

There has also been a mini crime spree across allotments in Bedworth with thieves breaking into dozens of sheds.

Officers are investigating the spate of thefts which has left a trail of misery for allotment holders.

There were more than a dozen sheds broken into on Marston Lane allotments on Sunday night, although there has been only one report of a theft. Unconfirmed reports suggest that there were also 21 sheds targeted on the Mount Pleasant allotments, although police say that there has been no reports regarding the site.

Police are calling for people to ensure they report crime to them.

Officers want to hear from anyone who has any information about the thefts or who was responsible and are asking them to call the team on 101.

Details can also be passed on to officers via the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline on 0800 555111.
