Police in drugs raid

POLICE smashed down a door in Nuneaton in an early morning drugs raid.

Informatio­n from the community led the Nuneaton Safer Neighbourh­ood Team to a property in the town this morning.

Following community intelligen­ce, the team executed the Class A drugs warrant just after 6am.

PC Lloyd Walton from the Nuneaton SNT organised the warrant, which was executed this morning in Riversley Road.

He said: “Nuneaton Central is committed to tackling the sale and use of class ASB and quality of life issues which affect the local community.

“I would urge anyone with any informatio­n to call 101 and quote OpFarrell.”

No one was in the property and no drugs were found but officers did find some drugs parapherna­lia in the home.

It’s the second raid the team have carried out in a matter of days.

On Friday, a quantity of Class A and Class B drugs were seized during a swoop on a Abbey Green.

Drugs parapherna­lia was also found strewn across the property.

One man was charged with drugs offences while officers also arrested three other people but they were released without charge.

The raids are part of the team’s Operation Farrell, which is ongoing across the town in an flat in attempt to tackle drug and violent crime in the area.

It is calling on residents to report any concerns about criminal activity by calling 101 and quoting ‘Operation Farrell’.
