Your Life Energy firm staff learn more about dementia

-

STAFF from E.ON’s head office in Coventry are promoting a special initiative to colleagues as part of Dementia Awareness Week to colleagues.

Staff at the Westwood Business Park recently attended an information sessiondesigned to help increase awareness of the condition via the Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends project.

Those who take part learn about what it is like to live with dementia and how to turn that understanding into action, at home and at work.

Nick Taylor works for E.ON on its wind farms and took part in one of the first information sessions held at Coventry.

He said: “Attending the training has certainly helped to demystify dementia for me. It’s given me a small insight into what life can be like for people living with the condition, and the confidence to know how I can be of practical help to affected members of the public and customers I come into contact with.

“E.ON employees chose Alzheimer’s Society as the beneficiary of all of our fundraising and it makes sense to also explore other ways to Nick Taylor, back row second left, with fellow E.ON colleagues work with the charity. I’m proud to work for a company which is committed to helping increase understanding of dementia, the impact it can have on individuals’ lives and how we can help ease that.”
