Divorce applications ‘should be moved online’
A DIVORCE lawyer says applications should be made online because traditional family court procedures are outdated and expensive.
Catherine Thomas, managing director of specialist family law firm Vardags, has complained of formfilling in triplicate and says estranged couples get a poor service.
She suggested change after the most senior family court judge in England and Wales said plans for online divorce were at a stage where they could “move forward much further”
“The slow bureaucracy of our family courts produces poor value for the taxpayer. A move online would streamline this immensely.”
