WASPS GO FOR GLORY

PUPILS AND FANS GIVE WASPS A SEND-OFF TO REMEMBER AHEAD OF PREMIERSHIP FINAL

- By IZZY SANDERS

THE Wasps squad received a big send off from fans and schoolchildren as they made their way to London for the club’s biggest game in years.

Wasps take on Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership Final at Twickenham today, 2.30pm kick-off.

Among the well-wishers waving off Dai Young and his team from their training base at Broadstreet RFC yesterday were pupils from President Kennedy School and Community College and the Godiva Academy of Performing Arts in Coventry.

Verity Brown, community development manager at Wasps, said: “The training ground was absolutely buzzing with people wanting to wish the players well.

“I’ve been out and about in the region and the excitement has been building all week.

“Now the final is almost here and we can’t wait to head to Twickenham to support the squad as they try to bring home the Aviva Premiership trophy, after what has already been a sensational season for the club.”
