What are you wearing today? Stella McCartney star jeans, Alexander McQueen trainers, Lulu & Co T-shirt, and a vintage cream leather biker jacket. Who’s your style icon? Patti Smith. What item of clothing do you spend the most on? Probably shoes to be honest. I really like Fiorentini & Baker biker boots and I’m a bit addicted to Stella McCartney’s Elyse platform shoes.
I’m not a big fan of wearing heels but I’m pretty short, so it’s great to get up to average eye level on a night out without damaging myself. What is your favourite piece of clothing in your wardrobe? It’s currently this amazing vintage cream leather biker jacket I have on.
I saw it hanging in the window of a thrift store in Venice Beach, California, where I now live.
It’s an 80s jacket so it has these bat-wing sleeves, but it’s so cool and a bit beaten up and somehow not that dated looking.
I get a lot of compliments about it.
It also has a couple of extra pockets, so it totally doubles up as my handbag. What is the most expensive item in your wardrobe? I have this incredible Marco di Vincenzo silk jacket which I got in a sale but it was still pretty pricey!
It’s like a cross between a kimono and a bomber jacket; beautiful multi-coloured silk, tons of pattern, all the colours of the rainbow... and it’s reversible. What has been your biggest fashion disaster? I got the call to go on Later... With Jools Holland in 2004.
I’d never been on TV before and I decided it would be a great idea to wear the sleeves that I had cut off a mohair jumper as a pair of legwarmers.
I will never understand it. Who is your favourite designer? Isabel Marant. It’s great when you find a designer that feels like they are designing for you personally.
I love the way she mixes crafted, ethnic influences with metallics and supercontemporary design.

I am a modern day nomad, and her designs have always spoken to me of that kind of troubadour life. Which is your favourite high street store? Zara. I just bought a beautiful two piece navy kimono suit; big, flowy widelegged trousers and a suit-style jacket both with a gorgeous salmon pink heron print. I have quite a boyish figure and their clothes fit me well. All Saints is a close second though. What did your mum teach you about fashion? My mum was kind of obsessed with full-tilt matching.
She loved things to match within one outfit – colours and patterns – and I guess I did it too for a while.
I now feel like I’m kind of colour blind to crazy matchiness, like I might be doing it without even realising it.
