FORMER football hooligan-turnedactor Barrington Patterson was beaten and robbed during a brawl while working as a VIP bodyguard in Ibiza, he has claimed.

The Coventry kickboxer and bodybuilder says diamond studs worth £1,000 were ripped from his ears and a £600 pair of sunglasses were snatched when trouble broke out at Ushuaia Beach Club.

He claims a mobile phone was also taken in the Saturday morning violence, but later returned.

The 51-year-old former leading light in Birmingham City’s Zulu hooligan crew suffered bruising to his back and kidneys.

A member of the public who tried to intervene suffered a broken nose, Baz’s partner Tracey said. “He was jumped on,” she said. “He told me that if he’d gone down, he would’ve been dead.”

Barrington, who once fought heavyweight legend Vitali Klitschko, was on the Mediterranean island for four days, acting as bodyguard for an unnamed celebrity.

He was taking the mystery star to meet rapper Tinie Tempah when the incident took place.

The hardman, known as One-Eyed Baz, who returned home in the early hours of Sunday, has posted footage of the incident on Facebook.

He told fans on social media: “I’m in the middle of these animals, loads of people sending me videos, keep them coming guys. Had loads of people asking if I’m OK? What do you think, but appreciate the respect.”

He later posted: “Just spoke to Mrs P on the phone, she is going mad lol. She said if she was there she’d be hitting these people with flip flops lol.”

The message is accompanied by a laughing emoji.

“Some guy started barging into Barrington,” said Tracey, “and he took no notice.

“The guy pushed his head in Barrington’s face and they all jumped in. He can look after himself.

“I know quite a few people tried to intervene, some got injured ”

She added: “Video footage is now in the hands of our legal team.”

The club is on the same complex as the five star Ushuaia Beach Hotel. A staff member said they were unaware of the incident.

Barrington, originally from Birmingham, has appeared in TV series Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men, penned a bestseller and appeared in the film Meet The Guvnors alongside David Essex.

In a 2013 interview, he said: “I was born to fight. I came out of my mother’s womb fighting, I’m not the kind of person who walks away. If you don’t want trouble, don’t lay it on me.” A MAN from Coventry was detained after a 4x4 was involved in incidents across Rugby.

The 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and possession of a controlled substance. It follows reports that two people were seen attempting to break in to a premises in Railway Terrace at around 11.15pm on Friday.

Another report was made just before 11.30pm that a dark 4x4 had crashed into a business in Hillmorton Road and that an attempt was made to take the till.

The vehicle is then believed to have been involved in a third incident, shortly before 12.15am on Saturday, where a vehicle was used to try and gain access to a petrol station in Church Road in Shilton.
