Your Life Store glides in to support ice show
A CHARITY ice dancing show held to raise funds for Zoë’s Place Coventry was given a boost from Tesco’s Cannon Park store.
The Strictly Ice Dancing event took place last month at Planet Ice in Coventry, with volunteer novice competitors training over six months ahead of their stunning performance.
The supermarket giant donated £500 of gift cards for the event, which were used to buy raffle prizes.
The latest donation is part of a wider initiative by Tesco to support charities within Coventry. Tesco also recently donated £3,200 to Zoë’s Place for a special trampoline to deliver Rebound Therapy to its young visitors.
Zoë’s Place was inundated with volunteers when it appealed for contestants for the ice skating show.
They were trained by European, world and Olympic coach Yuri Bureiko, a professional skater, world renowned choreographer and founder of the International School of Skating.
Zoë’s Place provides palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years who are suffering from lifelimiting or life-threatening conditions.
Leann Sullivan, community champion at the Tesco store at Cannon Park, said: “Zoë’s Place has a special place in the hearts of store colleagues and customers and it does such an amazing job.
“The ice skating event was great fun and we are delighted to have been able to help raise valuable funds.”
Muna Chauhan, corporate manager at Zoë’s Place, added: “We are very grateful for the help we receive from Tesco. The support we receive for our fundraising events is vital in enabling us to be there for the people who need us the most.”
