Inspiring people to make most of their tenacity and teamwork

- Apogee Sales Manager Robin Gunn

NOMINATIONS for this year’s Coventry and Warwickshire Sports Awards are well underway, and once again market leaders in print, document and process technology, Apogee, are showing their support for the awards.

Each category has a sponsor; a business who has strong links to the local area and who appreciate the impact sport can have on the community. Sponsoring the Manager/ Coach of the Year award in 2017 is Apogee, Europe’s largest independent provider of print, document and process technology and outsource services.

The Manager/Coach of the Year award recognises the individual who has made a significant contribution to their team’s success and the lives of the people they coach.

The occasion celebrates the region’s sporting successes in what has been another stellar year of sport in Coventry and Warwickshire. This year’s event takes place on October 5 at Coventry’s fantastic Ricoh Arena and will see both professional and amateur sporting figures from the region gather for the awards with nominations across a range of categories. The glamorous event will be hosted by weather presenter Emma Jesson and Sky Sports presenter Gary Newbon.

Apogee are proud to be an award sponsor and the company’s Sales Manager Robin Gunn discussed why the company chose to sponsor this particular award: “The awards are a great chance to celebrate the achievements of the region’s most accomplished sportspeople and to promote sport more widely in the county. We chose to sponsor this award because sport and industry often share common leadership goals, and can both be highly competitive so we feel this is a great match for our business.”

He continued: “By celebrating the achievements of sportspeople in the local area, we hope to inspire more people to realise their tenac- ity, commitment, teamwork and motivation and put it to use in everything they do.”

Sport is a huge part of people’s lives in this country and regional sporting success can provide a real boost to the local area as does hosting sporting events at local venues and this is something that Robin recognises.

“Recent investment in Coventry’s sports and leisure facilities”, he said, “has resulted in much improved sporting offerings and people living in the area are now able to get involved in a vast amount of sports.”

He continued: “The Ricoh Arena which is home to rugby team Wasps and Coventry City Football Club, is just one example of a world-class sporting venue which makes Coventry a great destination for sports.

“Apogee are delighted to be associated with the Coventry and Warwickshire Sports Awards again this year. As our organisation continues to grow throughout the Midlands, we hope to develop our involvement with the local community and the Coventry Sports Awards are a great way to do this. We would like to wish all nominees the best of luck and we hope you are looking forward to the awards ceremony as much as we are!”
