A POPULAR pub in Bulkington has had a fresh new look costing more than £100,000.

The White Lion on Leicester Street has had a full refurbishment from the fixtures and fittings to an extension to the kitchen.

Known for its entertainment and sociable atmosphere, the White Lion can now welcome more people in with a brand new menu.

It has had a full redecoration and new furniture, fixtures and fittings, the kitchen has been extended to cater for a new menu and the ladies and gents’ facilities have been replaced.

Chris Uttley has been in charge at The White Lion since February and is delighted with the improvements made by Punch.

Chris said: “Overall the pub is now much fresher and brighter but our warm, friendly welcome is still the same. The biggest change has been the kitchen extension which means we’ve been able to introduce a new menu with more choice for our customers.

“Throughout the week customers can enjoy food and drink offers including; ‘steak night’ on Tuesdays, Prosecco offers on ‘Fizzy Friday’ and hearty roasts with all the trimmings on Sundays.”

The pub hosts discos and live music entertainment at least twice a month and the large beer garden with children’s play area is well used during the summer for family fun days complete with bouncy castle and BBQs.

Publican development and training manager for Punch, Stuart Burley, said: “The White Lion is a great local pub where everyone is welcome and our investment has given the pub a boost.”
