Walliams’ book Billionaire Boy gets an airing

TV funny man and Britain’s Got Talent judge’s children’s book is turned into stage show for outdoor venue tour

-

LREADY an actor and a star in the world of comedy, David Walliams is busy carving out another career as one of the UK’s top children’s authors. The Boy in the Dress, Gangsta Granny and Mr Stink are just some of the titles of his award-winning novels – and one of the best-loved, Billionaire Boy, has now been transformed into a theatre production which is touring open-air venues across Britain throughout the summer.

Heartbreak Productions has developed the show with Benjamin Darlington as Joe Spud, Darryl Hughes as Bob, Oliver Hume as Mr Spud, Faye Lord as Bob’s Mum and Jas Steven Singh as Raj, bringing to life David’s best-selling book.

Mr Spud and his son Joe have a very specific garage sale (they used to own 500 garages) but the latest one is to sell their final belongings to raise some money to buy food!

The Formula 1 racing car has already been taken by the bailiffs, but there might be something interesting left, so who knows what they might find...

Heartbreak Productions asks you to meet them at the helicopter pad outside Bumfresh Towers, where they will regale you with the story of how Mr Spud made his billions, lost it all and how Joe became the richest boy in the world.

Aimed at children of seven and upwards, Billionaire Boy will be at St John’s House Museum; Warwick, on August 15; Charterhouse Priory, Coventry, on August 19; and Bridge House Theatre, Warwick, on September 9. For tickets go to tickets.heart
