POLICE are yet to make any arrests following a terrifying raid at a Warwickshire pub.

Warwickshire Police are investigating after balaclavaclad robbers wielding an axe and knives robbed The Hatton Arms, on Birmingham Road, Warwick, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to the gastropub at about 5.50am and received a report that two men and a woman, all wearing balaclavas, had entered The Hatton Arms.

They are thought to have been carrying an axe and knives with them and threatened staff before assaulting one of them and stealing cash from a safe.

Det Sgt Cindy Stephenson said: “The staff were understandably very shaken by this crime but thankfully none of them were seriously injured.

“As the community would expect a full investigation is underway and we are following a number of lines of enquiry. We are dedicated to ensure we find those responsible and bring them to justice.

“As always, information from the public can make a big difference in helping detect crime and I would ask anyone who was in the Birmingham Road area that saw or heard anything suspicious to call us on 101, quoting incident number 93 of August 6.”

Anyone who wishes to give information to the police but doesn’t want to give their name can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

This crime is not being treated as linked to a number of robberies across Warwickshire over the last week.
