Going from strength to strength
AS they move into a new academic year, the pupils and staff of Grace Academy Coventry are still celebrating following all the success of the previous year.
Not only did GCSE performance continue to improve, but also the A-level results were the best the school has ever achieved.
And on top of all that, 100 per cent of all students gained a place at their chosen university.
Executive principal Mr Darren Gelder, delighted at the immense progress made by Grace Academy Coventry, said: “It has been a challenging year with many positive changes at Coventry. The results this year show a marked improvement on the previous year and place the academy on a level footing with other schools and academies in the region.
“It is the first time that we are able and proud to report that 100 per cent of students who applied to university were accepted at their chosen place of learning.
“There were some outstanding personal achievements at A-level and GCSE. In particular Oliver Poole, who achieved ABB grades in psychology, maths and business A-levels and is now starting an apprenticeship at the big four accountancy firm Deloitte.
“David Calampinay, Catherine Dudley and Jack Wilson achieved the new Grade 9 in GCSE maths, which was only awarded to the top 3 per cent of students in the country. The outcomes are a true reflection of the hard work and dedication of students with the support of staff, parents and carers.”
Grace Academy does not intend to rest on its laurels and plans are well in hand for further progress, as Mr Gelder explained: “The hard work and commitment continues apace at the academy with the appointment of Anu Monga as associate principal to support the continued development and progress of Grace. As the new Year 7 students arrive at the Academy they, and their parents/carers, can be assured about the quality of educational provision, care and drive for them to be successful that they will receive at Grace Academy.”
The open evening takes place on Wednesday, September 20, from 4.30pm to 7pm, with the principal’s talk at 5pm and again at 6pm.
