COVENTRY readers have reacted after a documentary aired the heartstopping moment a baby born in the city was brought back to life after SIX minutes.

West Midlands Ambulance service medics Simon Lees and Chelsie Kennedy attended the home in the city, while being filmed for a More 4 documentary series, 999: On the Front Line, in the tense scene.

The heart-wrenching scene ended in relief as the little one – eventually named Yasin – cries out after six heartstopping minutes, bringing joy to his dad Mohammad Hassan, who is seen watching helplessly in the doorway of the bedroom.

Mohammad is shown looking on as the two paramedics battle to save his son as wife Syad lies on the floor – umbilical chord still attached.

The duo immediately launch into a desperate bid to save the newborn’s life using their thumbs to give CPR.

However, it is six long minutes before they start the baby’s heart and bring him back to life, sighing with relief as he utters his first cries.

“You’re waiting for that initial cough, that snort, that cry anything,’ Simon said.

And Chelsie added: “It’s one of the best things I have ever heard, I couldn’t believe it.

“What is the chance of getting a baby back after six minutes?”

Mohammad said: “Words cannot describe how I am thankful to the paramedics and the UHCW hospital who saved my little baby boy, baby Yasin will be turning one on September 24.

“He is healthy and the happiest son.”
