Your Life Staff smash their target to raise Tiny Tim’s funds
COLLEAGUES at The Wigley Group more than stepped up to the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – by doubling their fundraising target for Tiny Tim’s Children’s Centre in Coventry.
The team had hoped to raise £1,000 for the firm’s chosen local charity of the year by taking on Yorkshire’s highest peaks in under 12 hours, but managed to collect £2,012 in sponsorship.
Tiny Tim’s provides free complementary treatment to children and young people with disabilities, health problems and special needs. The money raised will go towards therapy sessions.
James Ellerington, head of asset management at the commercial property company based at Middlemarch Business Park in Coventry, said: “We didn’t expect to raise so much but everyone from friends and family to colleagues and contacts dug really deep as Tiny Tim’s is such a good cause.
“The challenge was more difficult than any of us had anticipated and everyone in the team pulled together to make sure we completed it.
“It was a great experience and we’re all thrilled and thankful for the amount raised.”
Claire Lynch, Louis Smith, Lee Hopkins, Alexis Considine, Alan Greenway, James Ellerington and James Davies made up the team.
Sarah Hemings, centre manager at Tiny Tim’s, said: “The treatment we provide in physiotherapy, massage therapy, Bowen therapy, reflexology and occupational therapy can make a huge difference to the children and their families.
“We rely heavily on donations to provide the treatment. Last year we did 4,000 therapy sessions and the money raised by The Wigley Group will pay for 80 more.”
