£1 000 REWARD AFTER TERRIFYING ROBBERY

A £1,000 reward has been offered after an armed robbery saw three masked men strike at a Nuneaton bingo hall.

The gang forced their way into Grand Bingo, in Camp Hill Road, and threatened three members of staff with a bladed weapon and a baseball bat on Monday morning.

The robbery happened between 7.55am and 8.15am and saw the three robbers, who were dressed in dark clothes and had their faces covered, steal a large amount of cash from a safe.

They then left the building through a side door onto Bucks Hill, where they are believed to have got into a blue Vauxhall Insignia and driven off in the direction of the crossroads at Bucks Hill and Camp Hill Road.

A reward of £1,000 has been put up for informatio­n which leads to the arrests and successful conviction­s of those responsibl­e.

Mark Jepp, managing director of Majestic Bingo Limited who operate the Grand, said: “We are working closely with Warwickshi­re Police to bring the people responsibl­e for this crime to justice, but we also need your help.

“We are appealing to the local neighbourh­ood; if you saw anything suspicious on or around the time of the incident then please contact the police.”

Det Con Stephen Reading, of Nuneaton CID, said: “Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured during this incident but it was an understand­ably traumatic experience for those involved.

“We are carrying out a number of enquiries in the area, including reviewing CCTV in our attempts to identify the suspects.

“I urge anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area at the time, or anybody who may have seen the car involved to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 69 of September 25.”
