SHOPPERS ‘FACING LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DASH’

ONE-IN-SIX (15%) Christmas shoppers will not finish buying festive goods until Christmas Eve, research suggests.

Despite putting off shopping for gifts, people tend to ideally like everything completed by mid-December (34%) or the end of November (29%) according to TopCashbac­k.co.uk.

Among the people surveyed who find it easier to shop with someone else, partners were found to be the most useful.

NATWEST LAUNCHES ‘PAPERLESS MORTGAGES’

NATWEST is to offer customers paper-free mortgages.

The bank’s customers can now apply for a “digital” mortgage if they want to, using technology to securely share and verify documents online.

Lloyd Cochrane, director of mortgages NatWest, says: “This innovation will make the process of buying a new home much simpler, easier and faster for our customers, transformi­ng the way homes are purchased in the UK.”

LEEDS BUILDING SOCIETY SAVERS WILL RECEIVE MINIMUM INTEREST RATE

A BUILDING society has pledged to give its savings customers a minimum of 0.5% interest.

Leeds Building Society is writing to its members to say it will pay at least 0.5% across both Isas and non-Isas.

The Society says its savings range should become clearer and more consistent for savers as a result.
