Woman, 93, dies after accident in store car park

AN ELDERLY woman has died just days after she was involved in an accident with a BMW in a supermarke­t car park.

The 93-year-old pedestrian was in collision with the car in the Sainsbury’s car park in Kenilworth last Thursday. She was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshi­re with serious injuries. She died on Sunday. A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said at the time: “We were called to the Sainsbury’s car park on Warwick Road at 12.33pm.

“The collision was between a car and pedestrian. She suffered chest and abdominal injuries and was given pain relief on scene and taken to UHCW.

“We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.”

Warwickshi­re Police are now asking for any witnesses to come forward following the collision.

A spokesman for the force said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision on Warwick Road last Thursday (October 12).

“Police were called to reports of a collision between a white BMW and a pedestrian outside Sainsbury’s, shortly before 12.35pm. A 93-year-old woman was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshi­re with serious injuries, where she sadly died on Sunday.

“Any witnesses are asked to call 101 and quote incident number 156 of 12 October.”
