Woman, 93, dies after accident in store car park

AN ELDERLY woman has died just days after she was involved in an accident with a BMW in a supermarket car park.

The 93-year-old pedestrian was in collision with the car in the Sainsbury’s car park in Kenilworth last Thursday. She was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with serious injuries. She died on Sunday. A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said at the time: “We were called to the Sainsbury’s car park on Warwick Road at 12.33pm.

“The collision was between a car and pedestrian. She suffered chest and abdominal injuries and was given pain relief on scene and taken to UHCW.

“We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.”

Warwickshire Police are now asking for any witnesses to come forward following the collision.

A spokesman for the force said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision on Warwick Road last Thursday (October 12).

“Police were called to reports of a collision between a white BMW and a pedestrian outside Sainsbury’s, shortly before 12.35pm. A 93-year-old woman was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with serious injuries, where she sadly died on Sunday.

“Any witnesses are asked to call 101 and quote incident number 156 of 12 October.”
