HUNDREDS of bikers helped pay a noisy but fitting tribute to a young dadto-be who died in a quad bike crash.

Tyrone Evans, 21, from Tile Hill, was killed on the A444 in Coventry last month, leaving a huge hole in the lives of many.

The strength of love for the young man was clear for all to see as family and friends packed out St Mary & St Benedict’s Church, in Hillfields, for his funeral yesterday morning.

This was then followed by a staggering procession of bikes, quads and cars which followed behind the bike and sidecar hearse that was carrying Tyrone’s coffin.

The cavalcade made its way from the church, along the A444 past the scene of the fatal crash - which happened on September 15 - near to the Cyan Business Park, and on to Lentons Lane cemetery for a private burial.

At the funeral, Tyrone’s dad David spoke of his love for his son, adding: “He was unique, individual.

“He did what he was passionate about, regardless of what I told him, or his mum told him. “He just did what he wanted to do.” Tyrone - who was known as Mr Mechanic - was set to become a father and a GoFundMe page was set up following his death in aid of his unborn daughter.

A number of people who knew him took up a place on the footbridge over the A444 to watch the cavalcade.

One of those was Courtney Jarrett, whose brother was good friends with Tyrone.

She said: “I would come home and he would always be round seeing the family.

“He was loved by everyone and would help out so many people - young and old - with their bikes.

“People all over the place knew him and that’s how loved he was.”

Another woman who watched the procession from above the bypass was Debbie Rogers, who said: “We came down on the day of the crash itself and were here for around two hours.

“I heard the funeral was today so thought we should come and pay our respects.”
