Get a taste of college at open days
WOULD-BE students will be able to find out about school leaver courses, apprenticeships and degrees at Warwickshire College Group’s open events this month.
Royal Leamington Spa College, Moreton Morrell College, Rugby College and Warwick Trident College offer a range of subjects, study options and apprenticeships, and the open events give prospective students the chance to get the information they need to decide which course or apprenticeship is right for them.
Visitors can talk to students and tutors, view facilities and find out more about college life. The college’s friendly, impartial student advisers – trained to the highest Matrix quality standard – can also offer confidential advice on careers and opportunities available.
Each college specialises in different courses. Warwick Trident College is focused on engineering and motor vehicle courses. Moreton Morrell College offers a range of land-based courses including agriculture and countryside, arboriculture, equine, animal welfare and vet nursing, as well as floristry, construction and sport. Royal Leamington Spa and Rugby Colleges have a wide variety of courses, including A-Levels, art and design, business, hair and beauty, childhood studies, construction and much more.
Jennifer, from Leamington, studied A-Levels at Royal Leamington Spa College and said: “I’m very independent and prefer having freedom to learn, so college was a better fit for me than sixth form. I think this style of learning has prepared me for university and the tutors are so supportive, both personally and academically.”
