Brexit delays are damaging economy

-

FIRST we had Phyllis N Bainbridge and her cloud cuckoo land liberalism, and now we have Andy McDonald who seems to think the whole world should be painted red and that the only tools we need to achieve the Garden of Eden is a hammer and sickle.

He rails at Theresa May to stop Brexit, because the country is on the brink of being thrown into a Great Depression – happily ignoring the fact that the decision to leave was taken by the people in a democratic vote.

What people like Andy don’t seem to accept is that any damage to our economy is not being caused by Brexit but by the unnecessary protracted delay in getting us out, which, by trying to apply a British sense of fair play to an undemocratic regime, then sees such actions as weakness (which in this instance it certainly is).

Instead she should have, via the government, decided what is best for our country and gone from there.

I feel that the EU is on the verge of collapse (mighty cheer) and will, if allowed to, drag every other country in Europe into the Great Depression that Andy speaks of.

If all the people in this country accepted what is a democratic wish, and showed a concerted Brexit face to the EU, things would have and still can move a lot faster and the results would be a lot better for our country. Colin Stubbs Willenhall
