Life is too precious to take a call while driving
MS Fionnula Hainey highlights the results of ’Operation Tramline’ (Nov 9) in which Warwickshire Police found many people driving while using mobile phones, thus distracting their attention from the road. The same would no doubt be true in the West Midlands.
We have all seen vehicles being driven in that way, and it is as unnecessary as it is dangerous.
If a call is really urgent, there are always places where a driver can safely pull off the road.
Life is very precious and I hope that irresponsible drivers will be shown that they risk hurting others as well as themselves. Well done, the police! Councillor David Skinner (Con) Westwood ward
