Coventry Telegraph Business Awards 2017

-

BUSINESSES both large and small across a range of sectors will come together for a night of celebration, acknowledging the best the Coventry and Warwickshire business community has to offer.

The Coventry Telegraph Business Awards 2017 are almost upon us and excitement across the region is building with nominees eager to discover whether they will triumph.

This year the event takes place tonight and with 14 awards on offer across a range of categories, the competition is set to be fiercer than ever as individuals, and organisations compete for an award.

The glittering black-tie event will see guests greeted by a Champagne reception before enjoying a gourmet three-course meal. The ceremony will be conducted by two of the finest award hosts in the country in the form of Gail Emms MBE and comedian Mark Dolan. Overseeing proceedings, the pair will facilitate the evening’s action, including helping with the award presentations.

Gail Emms MBE is perhaps best known for her 13-year badminton career which saw her win an Olympic silver medal, two Commonwealth gold medals, one World Championship gold and two European Championship golds.

She rose to prominence in 2004 during the Athens Olympic Games winning a silver in the mixed doubles alongside her badminton partner Nathan Robertson.

She retired from the sport in 2008 and has since gone on to become an extremely popular television personality appearing on BBC Sport, Sky Sports and BT Sport. As well as this she has forged a reputation as one of the most highly-respected event hosts in the industry.

Alongside Gail will be Mark Dolan, one of the country’s most popular television comedians.

Having performed standup comedy at some of the biggest venues in the UK, Mark is well versed when it comes to performing in front of large crowds. Since starting his comedy career in 2000 he has appeared on shows including: The Jump, hosting Balls of Steel, Let’s Dance for Comic Relief and Come Dine With Me.

The Ricoh Arena in the city will be the backdrop for the awards, and is the perfect venue for such a prestigious event.

Each category at the awards has a sponsor and it will be their job to decide upon the eventual winners. This year the sponsors include: Allied Irish Bank, Askews Legal, Band Hatton Button Solicitors, Birmingham Airport, Coventry College, Genesis Employment, Grosvenor Casinos, Inspirational Birmingham, Jaguar Land Rover, Janine Edwards Principal Partner at St James’s Place, Liberty House Group, Mazars, Ricoh Arena, Thomas International, Unifabs and Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
