YOU’VE seen the John Lewis advert by now we’re sure, so it means Christmas is well and truly here.

There’s no escaping the festivities at this time of year. And in that spirit, we have compiled your ultimate guide as to when the Christmas lights switch-on is taking place near you.

Whether you live in Coventry, or the Warwickshire countryside, we have you covered.

In Coventry, it all starts next Wednesday, when singer and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon will be on hand to hit the switch that will light up the city centre.

The former Mis-Teeq singer will also be performing on the night. And she will be joined by the hosts of the switch on, Free Radio favourites JD and Roisin.

The line-up will also include some of the area’s top talent as well as appearances from local sports stars. In Leamington the big switch on is taking place along the Parade, Regent Street and Warwick Street tomorrow. There will be a Yuletide market from 10am, fun fair rides, tree of lights (outside the Town Hall) and a Touch FM stage show, all leading up to the switch on at 5pm. In Warwick, the switch on will take place during the town’s traditional Victorian evening on November 30 and will feature a steampowered carousel, a Victorian ferris wheel, fire spinners and children’s rides. Bulkington will light up on Tuesday at 6pm, followed by Bedworth on Saturday, November 25 at 5pm and Nuneaton the following day, also at 5pm.

There will be entertainment on the day at each location, from 11am in both Bedworth and Nuneaton and from 4pm in Bulkington. Santa will be joining the Mayor at each event to switch on the lights.

In Kenilworth, there will be new Christmas lights lighting-up the town centre in Leyes Lane and Oaks Precinct.

The switch-on events will take place over one weekend of December 1-3.

People will also be able to enjoy a free ice-rink in Talisman Square and Warwick District Council has agreed to provide free weekend parking.

The lights display in Stratford is considered to be one of the finest in the UK and this year it takes place on Thursday.

In Rugby, singing star Pixie Lott will turn on the lights tomorrow.

The four-time BRIT Award nominee will also take to the stage and entertain the crowd with some of her hits.

Pixie, who was a judge on The X Factor in 2010 and The Voice Kids in 2017, said: “I’m so excited to turn the Christmas lights on in Rugby.

“It’s my favourite time of year and I love seeing all of the Christmas sparkle everywhere.”
