Don’t fall out over EU this Christmas

-

PLEASE don’t be beastly to Remainers. Most are nice people. They are kind, generous and care for this country as much as the rest of us. They just cannot accept that they lost the referendum.

They dream that a Jeremy Corbyn government will lead Britain back into the arms of the EU. They do not realise that Corbyn spent much of his political life campaigning against the EU.

Remainers believe the pro-EU media and fantasise about the vote being overturned. They are being lied to; the die has been cast.

During the 1975 Common Market referendum campaign, Labour politicians such as Tony Benn and Peter Shore warned that there were plans for the Common Market to become a political state with its own flag, Parliament and currency. They were mocked for saying such things. Yet, it has come true.

The British people were lied to in 1975 and are still being lied to. George Osborne threatened mass unemployment and possible world war if people voted to leave. It never happened.

Christmas is a time for caring and sharing. If an angry Remainer taunts you this Christmas, turn the other cheek and offer the hand of friendship. Remainers need our understanding, not our anger.

The Brexit star shines bright on the tree this Christmas. May I wish all Coventry Telegraph readers a happy Christmas and a prosperous, Brexit New Year. Martin Judge Tile Hill
